Pet Corner – Washing Pet Beds and Accessories | Warsaw, Łódź

Pet Corner – Self-Service Laundry for Pets

Pet Corner is the only separate zone in Poland for washing animal accessories in the Speed Queen self-service laundromat network – available in Warsaw (Bielany, Mokotów), Łódź and Pruszków. The zone is equipped with washing machines and dryers with a capacity of 20 kg with dedicated programs for animal fabrics, operating in the temperature range of 30-60°C. This solution is intended for owners of dogs, cats, horses and all animals whose accessories require effective hygienic washing.

What can you wash at Pet Corner?

The Pet Corner zone serves all textiles and accessories that come into contact with animals – both for everyday use and those requiring hygienic washing after illness or infection.

Beds for dogs and cats

Thick, multi-layer beds (sizes S–XXL) fit comfortably in a large 20 kg drum. The “Animal Accessories” program (35°C, 44 min) effectively removes hair, mucus and allergens without damaging the filling.

Animal blankets and quilts

Fabrics that absorb hair and epidermis require thorough washing to destroy house dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus) and skin fungi (Microsporum canis). Professional machines available at “Pet Corner” provide appropriate parameters to effectively kill germs.

Horse blankets

The only dedicated “Horse Rugs” program (30–35°C, 500 rpm) adapted to thick, reinforced fleece and canvas fabrics. Gentle swirling protects seams and reflective inserts. Washing horse blankets in Warsaw, Łódź and Pruszków.

Clothes, harnesses and leashes

Accessories that come into contact with the animal’s skin may be a reservoir of bacteria and yeasts. Washing at 30-40°C with an appropriate detergent eliminates microbiological contamination without discoloring the fabric.

Fabric toys and tug toys

Regularly contaminated with saliva and soil – washing in the “Animal Accessories” program (35°C) restores full hygiene without damaging the silicone filling.

Mats, rugs and carpets

Heavy elements of playpen and cage equipment require thorough washing with intensive spinning (800 rpm). The “General Dirt” program deals with hard organic dirt.

Why is it necessary to wash animal accessories regularly?

A dog or cat’s bed is one of the most microbiologically contaminated items in the household – and at the same time the least frequently washed. According to the guidelines of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), animal allergens (Fel d 1 in cats, Can f 1 in dogs) accumulate in textiles and remain active for many months even after the animal is removed from the room.
  • House dust mites (Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, D. farinae) inhabit beds and blankets more intensively than any other piece of equipment – the animal’s body heat and humidity create optimal conditions for reproduction. Washing in dedicated programs destroys dust mites more effectively than chemical preparations used dry.
  • Skin fungi (Microsporum canis, Trichophyton mentagrophytes) – responsible for impetigo transmitted between animals and humans – survive in fabric for up to 18 months. Regular thermal washing is the only effective method of disinfection without the use of chemicals harmful to the animal.
  • Bacteria – including Staphylococcus intermedius and Pasteurella multocida – colonize textiles around the animal and may be a source of secondary skin infections both in the pet and in household members.

Recommended washing frequency:

  • Lair: every 2–4 weeks (every week for skin problems or allergies)
  • Blanket/duvet: every 1-2 weeks
  • Clothes and suspenders: after any intensive use or contact with other animals
  • Horse blankets: every 4–6 weeks or after each season

Pet Corner vs. home washing machine – why is it not the same?

Pet owners often try to wash their beds in a home washing machine. This solution has some serious limitations:
FeatureHome washing machine (6–8 kg)Pet Corner Speed Queen (20 kg)
CapacityThe XL lair will not enterIt can accommodate even the largest lairs
ProgramNo dedicated program for animalsDedicated 35°C program – safe for fabrics
HairIt clogs the filter and damages the pumpDrum adapted to hair
Spinning1000–1200 rpm – too strong for beds500 rpm – dedicated program
Cross hygieneShared washing machine with household members’ clothesWashing machines dedicated to animal accessories
Drying time24–48 h without a dryer20 kg dryer – ready in 1 hour
Key argument: In your home washing machine, you wash animal accessories in the drum that you use every day to wash your clothes. The machines in the Pet Corner & Heavy Duty zone are completely separated from those used for washing everyday clothes – this eliminates the risk of transferring hair, allergens and difficult pollutants to the clothes of household members.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions about washing pet items

❓ Can I wash a large dog bed in a regular self-service washing machine?

Standard self-service washing machines have a capacity of 8–12 kg and may not accommodate a large XXL bed. The washing machines in the Pet Corner zone have a 20 kg drum – they can accommodate even the largest beds for German Shepherds and Great Danes. The washing program is adapted to thick materials, which protects the filling from clumping.

❓ At what temperature should the bed be washed to kill bacteria and mites?

The “Animal Accessories” program in Pet Corner operates at a temperature of 35°C with gentle spinning of 500 rpm – this is the optimal temperature for animal beds and blankets, which effectively removes allergens, hair and odors, while protecting the filling against clumping and deformation. Professional washing agents dosed automatically enhance the hygienic effect even at lower temperatures.

❓ How often should you wash your dog’s or cat’s bed?

In a healthy animal – every 2–4 weeks. In case of skin problems, allergies or after contact with other animals – weekly. Particularly recommended for breeds predisposed to atopy: bulldogs, Labradors, golden retrievers, Maine Coons.

❓ Why does a dog’s bed stink even after washing at home?

The cause is most often insufficient washing temperature (below 60°C) or too short a cycle that does not eliminate anaerobic bacteria deep in the filling. The second reason is insufficient drying – the damp interior of the bed is an ideal environment for fungi. The 20 kg tumble dryer at Pet Corner solves both problems at the same time.

❓ Does washing at Pet Corner remove hair from the bed?

The washing machine drum catches hair during spinning. We recommend removing excess hair with a brush or roller before putting it into the washing machine – this shortens the washing time and extends the life of the filters. After drying in the tumble dryer, the bed is virtually hair-free.

❓ Can you wash a horse blanket at Speed Queen?

Yes – all our locations with the Pet Corner zone (Warsaw, Łódź, Pruszków) have a dedicated “Horse Rugs” program (30-35°C, 500 rpm), adapted to thick fleece and canvas fabrics with reinforcements. The blanket should be folded and placed evenly in the drum.

❓ What to do if your dog has a skin allergy – how often should you wash the bed?

In case of atopic dermatitis, veterinary dermatologists recommend washing the bed every 5–7 days. In Pet Corner, the “Animal Accessories” program (35°C, 44 min) combined with professional washing agents effectively reduces allergens. Important: avoid detergents with fragrances and optical brighteners – these agents are a common trigger of contact allergies in dogs.

❓ Does washing the bed help with flea disease in cats?

Yes. Flea eggs and larvae (Ctenocephalides felis) develop in the fabric – regular washing in the dedicated Pet Corner program combined with professional detergents effectively eliminates the development stages of parasites. Effective deflecking requires simultaneous treatment of the cat with a veterinary preparation and washing of all contact textiles.
